On Tuesday 5th July, 2022, we headed to Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair London for the Catey awards.

We were delighted to take home the prestigious title of ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’, beating off stiff competition from across the country including The Goring Hotel in London and The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath, thanks to the launch of their innovative luxury dining domes and Titan Sky Bar.

The awards run by The Caterer magazine are renowned as the ‘Oscars’ of the hospitality industry. Since their launch in 2007, they have celebrated the very best success of hotels, hoteliers and employees across the UK recognising the most talented individuals, biggest brands and strongest performers in the industry. The shortlists and winners are decided by industry judges chosen for their expertise and industry knowledge, making the Cateys the ultimate accolade in peer group recognition.

Our Managing Director, Jordan Charles, was there to collect the award and said, “Our luxury dining domes were launched after the first lockdown and over time, we eventually opened 4 dining domes, culminating in adding the UK’s largest dome bar called Titan in November last year. They have proved incredibly popular for our guests with over 25,000 dining and drinking in them to date and generating over £1.5million of revenue. Whilst the pandemic created operational challenges for our industry, the investment in the domes was the best thing we could have possibly done, backed by an extensive marketing campaign that really put the hotel on the map. We’re extremely honoured to win a Catey and this epitomises the hard work of our team at the hotel, our marketing company 24 Keys and the incredible vision and investment by our Directors.”

Judge Sarah Collins from the Rick Stein Group commented; “The Meldrum team know they would have to think innovatively to meet changing consumer needs and achieve business objectives. I was impressed that they weren’t afraid to change, improve and invest further to increase return. It was brilliant to read how this successful example of collaboration and innovation will continue to motivate their team ambitions in the future.”
