Lady Captain’s Message – Sarah Mackie
The Ladies section is full swing (excuse the pun) and got off to a good start with a Pre-season swing check and how to practice class. At this, sixteen ladies enjoyed a two hour group coaching session focussing on effective practice techniques and a pre season swing check. Our thanks go to Neil Marr for his excellent coaching and guidance on how best to practise. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the raffle which helped raise £110 for the Social fund.
The Ladies also met on Sat 18th April to go through the plans for the season which includes:
Ladies Clothing event with Glenmuir and Sunderland golf clothing.
This will be held on 13th May at 4-7pm upstairs in the clubhouse. Ladies can enjoy a 10% discount on all orders made that evening and can invite non-member guests to enjoy this too.
The Eclectic and Birdie tree competitions are being run again this year and any lady keen to be part of this can give £2.50 for each into the pro shop.
During the Closed week – there is a proposed plan for a day outing to Tarland Golf course followed by soup and sandwich lunch at Douneside House on Tuesday 13th July.
Thanks to Lorna Johnson and Lynn Kelly are kindly coordinating interest and teams for County competitions and Robertson Cup.
A weekend outing is also being kindly planned by Judith Sutherland for later in the year and more details will be available in a future update.
It is great to see so many ladies already having good rounds early in the season and well done to Lorna J, Moyra C, Lynn K, Sue W, Judith R with their names topping the leader board and sometimes more than once!
Wishing everyone an enjoyable season ahead.
Sarah
