Club Captains Message – Ewan Davidson
Dear Members,
I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all. It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as your captain, and I look forward to another year filled with camaraderie, sporting achievement, and memorable moments both on and off the course.
It is hard to believe that we are already one month into the new season which started on 4th April with the Captain v Vice Captain match. The weather was good to us, and it was a very enjoyable day, particularly for me as the captain’s team came out on top with a 12.5 to 7.5 victory (sorry Tony). We have also played for some of our established trophies already during April and the results of these are as follows:
Competition winners
Waterside trophy Richard Craig
Spring Meeting (ladies) Judith Sutherland
Spring Meeting (gents) Scott Ogilvie
President’s Prize Moyra Clark
Congratulations to our winners so far and good luck to all for the many trophies still to play for.
Looking ahead, I am enthusiastic about the opportunities that this year will bring. Our calendar is brimming with competitions and initiatives aimed at enhancing your experience and welcoming new members to our ranks. I encourage everyone—new faces and familiar ones alike—to get involved, support one another, and make the most of what our club has to offer.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the rest of our committee, staff and everyone who contributes their time and energy, ensuring our club runs smoothly. Your dedication is truly appreciated and forms the backbone of our ongoing success.
Wishing you all good health, low scores, and plenty of laughter in the year ahead. Let’s continue to play with integrity, respect, and enthusiasm, and may 2026 be a year to remember for us all.
Ewan.
