A Room With Its Own Story
Doocots were once built to house pigeons for the estate's larder, standing quietly at the edge of Scottish country houses for centuries. Ours has found a new purpose: a hushed, atmospheric corner of the estate where small groups gather to taste, talk and take their time. It seats up to twelve, making it perfect for an intimate gathering, a milestone celebration, or simply a few hours given over entirely to good whisky.
Whisky Country, Poured Properly
Aberdeenshire is whisky country, and few settings do it more justice than this one. Guided tastings can showcase drams from Glen Garioch — one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries, just a mile down the road — through to selections from further afield in Speyside. Each tasting is an invitation to slow down, learn the stories behind the glass, and taste the region for yourself.
An Unexpected Setting for Life's Moments
There's a reason the Doocot has quietly become known for more than tastings. Candlelight and four centuries of stone walls have a way of setting a mood — it's not unheard of for a quiet dram here to end in a proposal. Whether you're marking an anniversary, treating a group of friends, or simply after Aberdeenshire's finest in its most characterful room, the Doocot offers something none of our other spaces can.
